[Check out my upcoming novel! The blurb is at the very bottom: Cat, He's Up to No Good!]
They say people keep pets to meet their needs: dogs fulfill the need for communication, while cats offer companionship.
Bai Mingjing, whose parents divorced, eventually joined the ranks of cat slaves. Her biggest dream was to have a cat of her own.
Finally, after saving up several months' wages, Bai Mingjing bought a cat from a pet shop.
To be precise, the cheap black cat had conned her into taking it home.
But, well, cats are cats. What bad intentions could a kitten possibly have?
Sometimes clingy, sometimes aloof, and always hiding out of sight at the drop of a hat.
Bai Mingjing gazed at its fluffy back and thought, understandable.
Clever and jealous, with a look that seemed almost human, even mocking.
Bai Mingjing gave the cat's head a rub and thought, understandable.
Its combat power was off the charts, and it tore the house to shreds whenever it felt like it.
Bai Mingjing lovingly cleaned up the mess and thought, understandable.
When people cornered her, justice suddenly descended from the heavens: the cat transformed into a tall man who punched their heads clean off.
Bai Mingjing watched him walk away, blinked, and thought, understandable...
Hey, wait!
What the heck was that last one?
There is absolutely no way to understand that!
Reader advisory: The logic and writing are amateurish. Read at your own risk!
[Please add my upcoming novel to your collection! Another cat story!]
Cat, He's Up to No Good!
Lin Miao has a superpower: ever since he was little, he's been able to understand what cats say.
It's not a particularly powerful ability, but Lin Miao loves it.
He'd rather squat down and meow back and forth with a cat than talk to people.
Thanks to this superpower, Lin Miao knows cats inside and out. At university, he joins a stray cat rescue group.
He also learns a lot about cats.
For example:
Most cats can't understand human speech. They only know words like "food" and "treats."
And in many cases, cats understand their owners just fine, but can't be bothered to respond.
Most cats have simple thoughts, and their meows don't mean much.
Translated, it's things like "The weather's nice" and "I'm still hungry."
One day, he meets a greasy, talkative orange tabby.
The tabby's first words are, "Meowww!" Wife! Come pet me!
Lin Miao: Pfft!
He's heard cats call their owners "scoopers" and "two-legs," but what do you mean, wife?!!
Then he hears even more dirty talk from the cat.
But it's just a cat. What bad intentions could a cat possibly have?
Maybe this chubby orange tabby is just especially clever.
With an affectionate smile, Lin Miao strokes the cat's head. "Such a good boy. Eat up."
Later, at a volunteer event for the rescue group, Lin Miao meets a young man named Lan Shen.
Those smiling eyes look exactly like the chubby orange tabby's when it's spouting dirty talk.
Lin Miao: No way, no way. It must be my imagination.
That night, the chubby orange tabby shows up again, grumbling.
The tabby: "Meow meow meow!" Wife, you were so cold to me today, sob sob.
Crash!
Lin Miao falls off his stool.
Theme: Don't adopt a cat on impulse. Consider adoption instead of buying.
Hahahahahaha Maode Academy is famous far and wide
"I can't live at home, Yan's mother is a bit..." This is a big bug for the author~
"Anxin" is a big thorn in the side of the author~ An Xin
The "momentary surprise" should be a sudden start or something else.
