As the only living direct descendant of this generation of the Karasuma family, Karasuma Ayazuki has something to say.
The Karasuma family has fallen into decline. The top conglomerates in Japan are Suzuki and Ooka, who are constantly competing with each other from east to west, much like the most popular high school detectives of the day. The young lady struggling to keep the Karasuma family business afloat curries favor with the heirs of both families, while drumming up orders to pay the salaries and dividends of the uncles, aunts, and old housekeeper who look after her.
Every now and then, her cousin Chris, the rebellious but close daughter of Aunt Sharon, drops by. Generously, she picks the wealthiest patrons from among a crowd of fans and brings in orders for her craft company.
Everything is peaceful and pleasant. It would have stayed that way if Karasuma Ayazuki hadn't happened to see a silver-haired killer knock out the savior of the police and force poison into the boy's mouth at an amusement park. That was when she became a target.
Dark night, strong winds, a killer arrives.
In a panic, Karasuma Ayazuki ushers the Suzuki heiress and her friends, who are visiting, toward the back door and tells them to run.
If I survive this, please give me next year's Suzuki family order in return for saving your life QAQ
And my frail old housekeeper and my gorgeous cousin! Don't go outside, there's a bad guy
The instant moonlight broke through the clouds and fell to the ground, its icy radiance shone like frost.
The old housekeeper cocked the gun hidden in her sleeve and stood over the killer in the entryway, dropping a bombshell with an air of authority:
"Gin, how dare you hunt down the young master?"
Karasuma Ayazuki, who had tried to shield the old housekeeper, froze.
Young master? Me? Are you talking about the young master of the Karasuma family, whose sun is setting?
"No, young master. I mean the unassailable ruler of the darkness, the Karasuma family."
For some reason, after several former heads of the family, subordinates sent by her ancestors, showed up at her house, the kid staying over at Uncle Mouri's started coming by all the time.
"Hey, hey, Ayazuki, that silver-haired big brother looks really scary. Is he really a bodyguard?"
Ayazuki: "Mm-hmm. He did try to kill me, but the head of the family has dealt with him for now."
"Hey, hey, Ayazuki, that blue-eyed big brother is such a good cook. Is he the new chef?"
Ayazuki: "Mm-hmm. His guitar case does have a compartment that could hold a sniper rifle, but he's really good at playing bass."
"Hey, hey, Ayazuki, that long-haired big brother is so cool when he drives. Is he the new chauffeur?"
Ayazuki: "Mm-hmm... He's handsome, gentle, and a gentleman, but he can't touch the car keys anymore! Not at all!"
"...Hey, hey, everyone in your family is so cool, Ayazuki. Do you know what the family members do?"
Karasuma Ayazuki swirled her unsteady glass of red wine and replied gravely, "Mm-hmm, because I'm the young lady of a villainous family."
That day, Ayazuki received an email from the Boss.
Someone in her household was a damned undercover agent, and the head of the family ordered her to find them before the deadline. If no one confessed of their own accord, everyone involved except her would be wiped out without mercy.
An undercover agent? Ayazuki thought the accusation was baseless.
The hands that had once been helped, supported, and saved by her companions belonged to someone whose veins still carried the devil's cruel blood. With those hands, Karasuma Ayazuki gripped a weapon, pressed its muzzle against the head of the family, and smiled with blood on her lips.
Tell me, esteemed sir, who should take the blame and confess as the traitor?
