"Welcome to The Number One Agent in Beika Town!"
As the top spender on the leaderboard of the game The Top Agent, I was invited to beta-test a game called The Number One Agent in Beika Town.
The game's slogan was, "Even a host can become a star. Agents, let's go!"
I thought, after playing an agent for so long, this time I was going to make my club one of the best-ranked in town.
So I eagerly opened the game, which looked like a PowerPoint presentation, only to discover with dismay that I couldn't spend money in it.
No matter. I could grit my teeth and grind.
Ordinary hosts all looked much the same, with extremely low starting stats, barely over ten. Then I saw the special hosts' stat panels, which started at almost 100, and my eyes lit up.
A special host with maxed-out social skills as a starting gift? Awesome!
If I grind my starting bodyguard's combat strength high enough, I can save an injured person and invite them to work at my club? I'll grind that strength like crazy!
And after I bring the person back, I get a new bodyguard too? With such high combat stats, I'll make him my personal bodyguard.
I can bring someone back to the club just by reporting a criminal? I'll reload a hundred times if that's what it takes to find the real criminal!
Going to the club next door to challenge them not only gets my hosts more fans, but might even let me bring someone back? Don't stop me, I'm going every day!
Huh... there's even a feature where sleeping with one of my hosts or bodyguards restores my happiness meter?
After showering him with gifts to raise his combat stats and loyalty, I sleep with my bodyguard every day...
It's not my fault! He gives me so many happiness points! And besides, my host won't sleep with me!
But grinding action points all day and earning coins at night got boring, so I went ahead and maxed out the affection meter of a character in town who looked suspiciously like a monk.
Once I'd maxed it out, all I could do was camp at the arena every day and grind combat stats with my bodyguard...
After painstakingly grinding my way to the title of "One of the Best," I finally relaxed and prepared to head to Yokohama to open a new branch.
So I happily entrusted the club to Hiromitsu Morofushi, my number-one host, and set off for the Yokohama harbor branch with my personal bodyguard, Toru Amuro.
But... why does this game even have a main storyline? And am I... an amnesiac?
[Advance warning]
1. A crossover between Detective Conan, Bungo Stray Dogs, Jujutsu Kaisen (Suguru Geto only), and Durarara!! [tentative]
2. It starts with two worlds, which later merge, or someone transmigrates
3. The timeline is a mess
4. Somewhat focused on putting characters through the wringer (?). The plot may be pretty silly. Don't worry, everyone gets saved.
5. Some game features are based on The Number One Agent in the Capital: an arena (to raise bodyguards' combat stats), a market (to buy hosts, food, gifts, and enter talent competitions), other host clubs, and club-challenging events
6. The pairing hasn't been decided, but it's most likely Toru. If I end up pairing him with Izaya Orihara... just pretend I never said it was likely to be Toru.
Theme: Go for it! You're the brightest star! Let's go!
