Entering His Heart [Historical Danmei]

Shen Lingxiao, young master of the Four Symbols Pavilion, is ordered to leave the valley with the late emperor's edict and go to the capital to announce the matter of the crown prince.

He looks at the blank edict in his hand, the corner of his mouth twitching as if he had radar:

The late emperor really does think I've lived long enough.

As soon as Shen Lingxiao enters the capital, Emperor Tianqing, who has no intention of giving up the throne, places him under house arrest in the palace. He is not free again until the Qixi banquet.

At the palace feast, cups clink and wine flows, but Emperor Tianqing's gaze stays fixed on him, so ambiguously that it makes his scalp prickle.

He takes a deep breath, leans toward the Second Prince, the closest person to him, and makes up a story on the spot:

Your Majesty, I have long admired the Second Prince. I beg you to grant us your blessing.

Chen Chuyuan pauses with his wine cup in hand, his gaze playful. You don't seem afraid of me.

Shen Lingxiao fawns over him. Your Highness is so dashing and heroic. Of course I think of you day and night.

Chen Chuyuan pushes away the hand reaching for his waist and sneers:

You believe in ghosts and spirits.

The day after Shen Lingxiao's wedding, he finally hears from someone else that

Chen Chuyuan is a demon who kills without batting an eye.

In a panic, he grabs his little backpack, ready to run for his life,

but before he can get out the door, someone grabs him by the collar and throws him into the bedroom.

Chen Chuyuan leans over him, his voice full of teasing:

What happened to thinking of me day and night? Why change your mind already, my dear wife?

Chen Chuyuan joined the army at fourteen and quickly distinguished himself in battle, earning the wariness of those around him.

To protect his own position as emperor, Emperor Tianqing poisoned Chen Chuyuan with a cup of wine, leaving him bedridden and suffering through the poison's effects day after day.

He thought his life would go on like this, until he died in battle or succumbed to the poison.

He never expected to meet Shen Lingxiao.

That man clung to him and whispered sweet nothings. Though he complained, he still treated his wounds and cured his poisoning,

until he was caught up in the fight for the throne and denounced by everyone.

Shen Lingxiao still stood in front of him, smiling brightly:

Second Prince, I am willing to enter this game for you.
