Synopsis:
The amnesiac Ghost King gong and the genius ghost hunter shou
In a supernatural world, Xiang Wenzhen is a helpless little guy with no ability to fight back.
The only reason he's still alive despite encountering ghosts so often is that he can revive endlessly.
Being killed won't make him stay dead, but it still hurts.
One day, Xiang Wenzhen went home from work as usual, prepared to die as usual, and encountered a ghost as usual. His reflexes kicked in, and he ran.
Unlike all the other times, someone saved him.
Xiang Wenzhen was deeply moved. At last, someone powerful had come along to look after him.
His protector was named Bai Yuanyu.
Bai Yuanyu was a good person. He helped Xiang Wenzhen once, then helped him again, and never complained.
But after spending so much time together, misunderstandings were bound to arise.
Bai Yuanyu didn't seem to believe that he was human.
Proving something like that was a little difficult. Xiang Wenzhen decided to keep his distance for now, giving them both some room to cool off.
But, by coincidence, they ran into each other again.
Bai Yuanyu didn't look too pleased.
Neither did Xiang Wenzhen.
Luckily, Xiang Wenzhen managed to bluff his way through, and even went a step further by explaining why they might still see each other in the future.
As the days went by, Xiang Wenzhen finally remembered that he had indeed lost his human identity long ago. The reason he could keep coming back to life was simply that, as a ghost, his rank was so high that he was difficult to kill.
By then, he had already earned Bai Yuanyu's complete trust and infiltrated their ranks.
As a Ghost King about to advance, how could he make any progress if he kept hanging around humans?
Xiang Wenzhen decided to leave his comfort zone and set himself free.
He went to Bai Yuanyu and said he had remembered everything. He would never again compromise or pretend to be human.
But Bai Yuanyu didn't respond with anything close to the same solemnity.
Bai Yuanyu leaned in and placed a kiss at the corner of his lips.
“Don't be silly. We've already done everything there is to do. We should start thinking about when to get married.”
The time, place, and characters are entirely fictional and have no connection to reality.
