Asahi-kun Doesn't Want a Childhood Friend

"I've lost all hope in this world full of childhood friends and lifelong companions."

That's what Asahizawa thought in the few minutes after he was kicked out of his house for a ridiculous reason.

After all, whose family was as saturated with the sickly-sweet romances of childhood friends and lifelong companions as his?

His maternal grandparents were childhood friends. They had been together for years, then naturally got together.

His parents were childhood friends, too. They spent a long time apart, though, so his childhood friend turned into a fated encounter.

His sister has a childhood friend. That boy is an extraordinarily rare, naturally charming heartthrob, so pretty older girls are always pestering his sister. Though honestly, she seems to enjoy it.

As for the one person who gave him a little comfort, his brother: after seeing him climb out of bed with his lifelong companion, both covered in hickey marks, Asahizawa gave up on him, too.

"So this is why I got kicked out of the house?!"

Asahizawa angrily scratched at the wall and shouted at his trashy dad, who was enjoying the show.

"Don't you think this is ridiculous?!"

"You're already thirteen. If you don't find yourself a lifelong companion soon, you'll die alone!"

His trashy old man casually waved a hand, then tossed his youngest son out again.

"And that's how I got kicked out of the house."

Asahizawa explained to the police officer in front of him why he was there.

Why was he explaining? Who knew Beika Town had so many murder cases?! Wasn't it absurd for a thirteen-year-old boy to become a suspect?

"Hey, mister! You're the one who put poison in my bag while I was in the bathroom, right?"

Asahizawa was so furious he laughed, and decided to fight back.

Asahizawa: If you won't let me off, then I'm not letting you get away, either!

As for the so-called lifelong companion...

Asahizawa: That little kid looks promising! You're the one I'm picking!

Conan: ??? Don't come near me! I have Ran!

Big Brother's lifelong companion is Gin, so this is the story of Asahizawa slacking off, randomly picking people, and taking them home to meet the family.
