In Character

Yuan Qingzhi, a veteran overworked office drone, was suddenly approached by a mysterious organization called the Directorate of Astronomy. They solemnly informed her that a famous classical opera was about to descend into the real world. This was the first time an opera had merged with reality, and no one knew why it was happening. Before disaster struck, the only thing they could be sure of was this: “There’s an extremely dangerous character from the opera who’s about to come out. We believe… you’re the only one who can stop this.” * Later, Yuan Qingzhi finally learned why the opera had suddenly merged with reality. It was proof that one character from the opera had burned away everything he possessed to cross countless mountains and seas and come to her side. * This time, I came for you. [Reader’s Note] The entire story takes place over four days. It’s a short, sweet bedtime read. Please support the official release www The male lead’s true identity is famous in Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. In this story, I’ve given him a constitution similar to Tomie’s, but without the ability to reproduce. For the sake of the story, I’ve taken some artistic liberties with real-world rules about traditional Chinese opera. See the author’s note in Chapter 1 for details. Theme: The ability to love someone matters more than being loved forever
