Shen Zhaoxue

[Saving this to build up my collection]

Shen Jiangxue is a princess of Dayu, beloved by the emperor. Kindhearted and generous, she is praised throughout the capital. But in secret, she is the emperor's hidden blade.

The history books call her a snake-hearted woman with a bodhisattva's face, guilty of countless crimes throughout her life.

She murdered her teacher, killed loyal subjects, and sent a sister to her death with a cup of poisoned wine. The young general who loved her lost his title because of her and was mocked mercilessly.

Yet before Shen Jiangxue was executed, he defied the emperor's command without hesitation and returned to the capital alone.

"Why did you come back?"

"Your Highness, you misunderstand. I did it for myself."

Ning Yanqiu couldn't remember when he first began paying attention to the princess. Perhaps it was the game of chess they played the first time they met. It was rare for him to enjoy a match so thoroughly. After facing each other several times, his gaze gradually shifted from the board to the person playing against him.

After losing again and again, he ended up losing his heart too, and from then on, he gave her the rest of his life.

Both leads are virgins.
