Southern Branch

In the past, if you wanted to promote a performer, you could rent out an entire theater for them. But Xu Nanzhi couldn't do that, because this theater belonged to her family. The red bills would just go out with one hand and come back in with the other. What was the point?

She wanted to spend lavishly on her troupe and its performers, build a stage worth tens of millions, and create the spectacle of a packed venue filled with thousands of guests.

The Wang troupe in the east of the city pushed her out, and the Li troupe in the north spread rumors about her. So Xu Nanzhi poached the Li troupe's publicity department and kidnapped the Wang troupe's leading performer's beloved disciple...

The notorious playboy of Beicheng, Lin Suien.

Lin Suien's shadow lurked behind the paper screen.

He kept insisting, "I came here on my own."

Xu Nanzhi was young, but her place in the family hierarchy was high. She called Lin Suien her grand-nephew in the sect, and he had to call her his junior grandaunt.

She had traveled far and wide to study, and seen many beautiful people with bright, open faces. Yet when she came home, she still thought none of them could match her Lin-shi nephew.

Lin-shi nephew was handsome, and he brought her good luck. With him by her side, things always went her way: she dodged the trap set by her senior uncle of the Wang troupe and dispelled the rumors spread by her junior uncle of the Li troupe.

So she always smiled at him and said, "All right. If that's what you say, then that's what it is."

"Junior grandaunt, please let my master off the hook." "All right. If you say so, I will."

"Junior grandaunt, don't pay attention to that senior of yours." "All right..."

"Zhizhi, I like..." "..."

Xu Nanzhi wouldn't answer anymore, and Lin Suien's eyes reddened.

He said hoarsely, "I won't say it again."

"...You have to call me grandaunt."

"...Grandaunt."

"Good."
