Savoring All the Colors of Spring

In her senior year of high school, Wen Hui set up a stall downtown to earn money for living expenses, drawing portraits for tourists.

A impeccably dressed, extraordinarily handsome man stepped out of a luxury car and walked past Wen Hui.

Without thinking, she called out, "Sir, would you like me to draw your portrait?"

The man paused for a moment, then sat down in front of her.

"I don't need a portrait." His eyes curved, seemingly full of affection, and his voice was warm and gentle. "Draw something you like instead."

Wen Hui picked up her pencil, and before long, the man's portrait came to life on the page.

The man didn't take the drawing, but he left her some money and told her to study hard.

Wen Hui worked hard at her studies and got into an art academy, just as she had hoped.

Only later did she learn that the man who had helped her on the street was Shang Youze, an influential business figure who had once donated an entire building to her academy.

After several twists and turns, she became the art teacher to Shang Youze's nephew.

At a family banquet one day, she finally saw Shang Youze again.

He looked at her and said gently, "You've grown up."

Wen Hui got her wish and grew close to Shang Youze.

But she knew they wouldn't last. All he felt for her was pity and indulgence.

After graduating, she cut off contact with the Shang family and devoted herself to being a little painter.

She painted a spring landscape and put it up in a gallery for sale.

One day, she went to the gallery and ran into Shang Youze, surrounded by a crowd of powerful men.

Shang Youze lingered for a long time in front of her spring landscape.

"Mr. Shang, what do you see in this painting?" someone asked.

The corner of Shang Youze's mouth lifted, and a hint of amusement passed through his eyes.

"A man who seduced her, then abandoned her."
