But Su He didn't believe her. Instead, she decided to toy with her. Su Wei didn't know why her mistress had changed. She dressed her in clothes she would never normally wear, took her out of the palace, and even stopped her from suffering through martial arts training. She wouldn't even let her pour tea or serve food. Before long, the shadow guard was deeply entangled.

But when Su Wei truly fell in love and tried to give her heart away, Su He scorned it as worthless.

"You're a shadow guard, lowborn. Did you really think you could rise to a high position after just a few months?"

"Your martial arts have already been abolished, and you've been given a parasite curse all these days..."

Su He lifted Su Wei's chin and said softly, "You won't have an easy time."

Only then did the shadow guard wake from her dream. Her mistress had never believed her. It had all been wishful thinking.
