The Cannon Fodder Wife of a Powerful Man in a Period Novel

Luo Fuyan had a dream.

In the dream, she was a female cannon-fodder character in a novel set in the 1980s.

The cannon-fodder character was in love with the male lead, Gu Hongsheng. She schemed to get him drunk, got pregnant before marriage, and pressured him into marrying her. After their wedding, she despised him for being a failure who couldn't give her a luxurious life. She made his life miserable until she finally brought about her own ruin. Not long after she died, the male lead found a second chance in his career and marriage.

Twenty-year-old Luo Fuyan hadn't met Gu Hongsheng yet, so she asked around and finally found his little noodle stall, where she could confront him. She wanted to ask him how he could call her spoiled and willful.

At the time, Gu Hongsheng was cooking noodles.

In the sweltering summer heat, the broth bubbled and steam swirled as the man cooked in an apron, shirtless.

In that steamy, blazing heat, the muscles in his upper arms flexed, and veins stood out like coiled dragons along his forearms.

His hands were bigger than her waist.

Oh no.

Luo Fuyan thought to herself.

She really did like this one.

Ji Yutong transmigrated into the heroine of a period novel called Making a Fortune Every Day in the 1980s. She knew the male lead, Gu Hongsheng, would be driven by his first wife's contempt to turn his life around, rising step by step from a little noodle-stall owner to a nationwide financial tycoon.

So she moved into a place near the Gu family and made a point of showing them concern every few days, waiting for Gu Hongsheng to dump Luo Fuyan, a woman with nothing going for her but her looks, and take her as his wife.

But she waited and waited, only to hear that Gu Hongsheng and Luo Fuyan were growing more loving by the day, and that the Gu family was thriving. Even after they had a child, the two were still inseparable, as devoted as newlyweds.
