Ruan Jia's fiance died while scuba diving.

But the marriage alliance between the Ruan and Zhou families had to go ahead.

So the Zhou family proposed that Zhou Jincheng, her fiance's older brother, take his place in the marriage alliance.

Ruan Jia thought a cold and arrogant man like Zhou Jincheng would never agree to such an absurd proposal. But the Zhou family came back with a reply: the marriage alliance would proceed.

Zhou Jincheng and Zhou Shengyu are twins.

But their personalities are completely different.

Zhou Shengyu is like warm jade beneath the moon, refined and reserved, holy and immaculate. Even in bed, when someone toys with him, he only lays his cheek in Ruan Jia's hand and gazes at her with eyes full of tenderness.

Zhou Jincheng, on the other hand, is snow, cold from the moment he was born.

He is cold, stern, solemn, and proud.

Ruan Jia rarely interacted with Zhou Jincheng. To her, a restrained man like him would never lose control.

But without Ruan Jia knowing, Zhou Jincheng had already lost control and gone mad countless times.

At some point, he and Zhou Shengyu developed a shared sensation.

The throbbing at the edge of his ear, the burning heat, the aftershocks that came wave after wave like a rising tide had tormented him to the verge of madness.

He went abroad, hoping to rein in the beast within him.

But all that brought him was night after night of damp, unspeakable struggle.

He knew he was well and truly doomed.
