Fish on the Move

After graduating from college, Yu You set off on a budget road trip with a few friends. Along the way, the sky suddenly revealed a dazzling, crystal-clear kaleidoscope spiral.

Their friends excitedly took photos to remember the moment, never realizing that the instant the camera captured the scene, they had already arrived in another world.

Above them, an eerie phoenix with long black-purple feathers blotted out the sky. In the forest, ancient trees shot up into the heavens, their canopies like roofs, with Golden Crows and Dijiang creatures roosting and circling among them. Across the boundless grasslands, the roars of primordial beasts shattered the clouds and soared into the heavens...

They were captured and taken as slaves, then fled three thousand miles. When her companions, filthy and mud-streaked, stood before an ancient city cast from colossal blocks of iron and stone, weeping like beggars, while people on the Cloud Terrace sang and laughed in splendid clothes and colorful sashes, dancing gracefully, Yu You had never felt so clearly that...

The world had changed completely.

All the order and civilization of the past had been swept away.

From here on, everything is only a prologue.

On the day Mad Saint exploded and died, he told Jiang Shuichao, "I dreamed of someone coming from the north. On the day you reach the summit of the Azure Sky and countless people envy you, she'll pierce the cinnabar mark between your brows with a spear."

Jiang Shuichao sheathed his blade and replied carelessly,

"I'll be waiting."

Later, he watched this young woman destroy three thousand Buddhist Lotus demons and flatten the Great Wilderness all by herself.

He thought:

If I die by her hand, that wouldn't be so bad.

Reader Advisory:

1. Plot-focused with a light ensemble cast. A leveling-up story, with a heroine who starts from zero and grows along the way.

2. An old-school fantasy revival. I wanted to revisit the Eastern fantasy I read long ago, with a strange, fantastical world and high-magic setting.
