Top South Korean figure skater Choi Yingcheng won two gold medals and one silver at the Sochi Olympics, becoming a national hero. She then dominated the world ice dance podium for four years.

After the competition, however, she was absent from the South Korean president's reception. Someone dug up the fact that she'd been online on Steam that night.

Two weeks later, China's national figure skating team announced that Choi Yingcheng had joined the team: "Welcome Ms. Choi Yingcheng, @CuiYiNGCHENG, to Team China."

Chinese netizens: Who? Choi Yingcheng? Choi Yingcheng?!!!!!!! The Demon Queen Choi has joined China?!!!!!

South Korean netizens: Holy crap, what a traitor.

Netizens around the world: China, awesome.
