Falling for You Again

5.16 Second Chance Romance, Older Woman/Younger Man

They reunited in a bar.

While playing Truth or Dare, someone asked what they most wanted to say to an ex.

A little tipsy, Yu Shu twirled a curl around her finger and smiled alluringly. "Which one?"

"The one you can't forget!"

An image suddenly appeared in Yu Shu's mind: a slender figure, somewhere between a boy and a man.

He was the one she'd always had feelings for. You could count him as an ex, so she wasn't dodging the question.

"I won't wish him a brilliant career. I'll just wish him peace and happiness."

A few people suddenly approached. The man in the middle stood out from the crowd in his immaculate suit. With his crew cut, sharp brows, and bright eyes, he looked just like the figure in her memory, yet somehow unfamiliar.

He walked right past her, not even glancing in her direction, as if she were a stranger.

Yu Shu couldn't help following him with her eyes. Only when his silhouette disappeared did she remember to breathe.

They met again through a business partnership.

She thought they would keep acting like strangers, as if they didn't know each other, until the work was done.

Until one day, Huo Sili pinned her against a wall and gripped her chin hard, baring every sharp thorn he had. His eyes were full of hatred. "How dare you come back?"

Yu Shu only wanted to finish what she had to do here and leave as soon as possible.

But then one day, Huo Sili lay in a hospital bed, clutching her hand tightly. His voice was pleading and hurt. "Sis, don't go."

Only later did she understand.

Making you relive your old dreams and leaving you nowhere to run: that's the strongest revenge a young man can take.
