[Bungo Stray Dogs/Atsushi X Chuuya] Spousal Rights

[Writing this short story next]

"People have human rights, but robots don't have robot rights."

"What does that have to do with you proposing to me with an artificial diamond?"

Slightly tipsy, Nakahara Chuuya stared in amazement at the European mechanical detective Adam, who was kneeling before him and holding up a ring.

"Humans can acquire the corresponding rights of a foreign country by marrying one of its citizens. This unit believes robots can do the same. In other words, this unit wants to marry Lord Chuuya and enjoy the rights of being Lord Chuuya's spouse."

Adam, who looked human, said this with complete seriousness.

A fake marriage of some kind? It sounded rather interesting, especially since the other party was a detective.

Nakahara Chuuya thought it over.

He held out his hand, allowing the robot to solemnly slip the ring onto his finger.

"I agree. From now on, you may enjoy all the rights of my spouse."

Much later, facing the tireless robot, Nakahara Chuuya ground his teeth and regretted not setting any limits back then.

"This unit is merely enjoying its spousal rights and fulfilling its spousal duties," Adam declared firmly. "Please rate this unit's service, Lord Chuuya."

Reader's Notes:

1. Adam x Chuuya, one-on-one, a sweet little story, casual everyday life, a short piece written for fun, updates irregularly. (Adam is the European mechanical detective who appears in the novel Storm Bringer. If you haven't read it, just think of him as a goofy robot.)

2. The Flags survive.

Theme: This isn't even a rarepair anymore. It's questionable whether the ship even exists.
