Female Betas Don't Need Male Mommies

Tang Xiaoxiao enjoys her peaceful, leisurely days working in the community. But after helping the police crack a locked-room murder involving a senior left behind in the countryside, she catches the eye of the local police station chief and is seconded to the police department, where her busy and thrilling life as everyone's favorite begins.

Life never goes quite as planned. As a delicate beta, she spends every day solving murder cases, thefts, fraud, and all sorts of other crimes alongside a group of alphas who are "stunningly good-looking, tall, and incredibly muscular."

More often, though, it's petty everyday disputes, like two omegas fighting over an alpha, or children arguing endlessly over an inheritance...

Even with the laziest detective in the whole station as her mentor, she still can't get a moment's peace.

What unsettles her even more is that the big-busted alpha guy from the neighboring criminal investigation squad seems to have a crush on her; the beta doctor senior who's looked after her for years confesses his feelings; and the omega lawyer who was once her unattainable first love comes looking for her after getting divorced, with a child in his arms...

When her parents press her to say which one she likes, Xiaoxiao lies on the sofa, eats a potato chip, thinks for a moment, then puts on a serious face and says,

"Haven't decided. They each have their good points..." Seeing her father's hand start to rise, she quickly changes her answer, unwilling to lie: "Can I have all of them?" So she gets kicked off the sofa.

A female beta, equally at home as the pursuer or the pursued, with no heat cycle and unable to smell pheromones, she finds the attentions of these "mommy boys" noisy, even as everyone else envies her.
