My Wife Is Pretending to Be Weak Again

*A Mr. and Mrs. Smith-inspired story, also known as two powerful people retiring and accidentally revealing their identities. Bai Yanchu, deputy commander of the secret guards, is tired of endless killing. She fakes her death and escapes while carrying out a mission to eliminate people from the martial world. She chooses a picturesque little town and opens a tavern. Before long, a handsome young scholar named Pei Zhou moves to town. Bai Yanchu is captivated by his looks and pursues him relentlessly, eventually bringing the charming scholar home as her husband. - Pei Zhou, the best swordsman in the martial world, gets caught up in court affairs by chance. A government agent runs him through with a sword, leaving him on the verge of death. After narrowly returning from the brink, he comes to the little town to recuperate, where a young woman stirs his heart and makes him consider settling down. In Pei Zhou's eyes, his wife is perfect in every way, except that she's a little frail, a little timid, and altogether very delicate. When it comes to killing fish or chickens, Bai Yanchu can't bear to look. "Husband, I faint at the sight of blood..." When they go shopping, Bai Yanchu keeps coughing lightly. "Husband, these things are so heavy. I can't carry them..." - Until one day, his enemies from the martial world come looking for his wife, intent on killing her to get revenge on him. He rushes home in a panic, only to find corpses piled high and blood everywhere. And his delicate wife stands amid the sea of corpses, sword in hand, the blade drenched in blood and her eyes full of fierce killing intent. Pei Zhou recognizes the sword in Bai Yanchu's hand at a glance. Its distinctive blade pierced his chest during the fire half a year ago. At that moment, the fierceness vanishes from Bai Yanchu's eyes, replaced by panic. "Sob, husband, I'm so scared..." Yet her grip on the sword tightens, her posture guarded. Pei Zhou smiles and draws his blade. "Wife, how about we settle a score first?"
