I Haven’t Been a High God in Ages

No individual or company is authorized to offer pirated copies of this book on any platform outside Jinjiang Literature City.] [The main story is complete. The blurb leans toward the romance, but the actual story gives equal weight to the plot and romance, with an ensemble cast.] [The male lead wins her heart; the second male lead is left to regret everything.] [Please check out my completed novels "Seasons of Radiance", "The Chief Secretary’s Little Plum Blossom", and "She Really Is Hard to Pursue". Find me on Weibo: @Jinjiang August Summer] 1. The day the High God Fusang scattered her true spirit and sacrificed herself to the Tree of Life and Death was the day Bai Su, the High God of Beiying Heaven, married the Heavenly Realm’s imperial princess. Bai Su had once believed that Fusang was nothing more than a chess piece he could use to save Beiying Heaven. Even if she died right before his eyes, he assumed his heart would remain untouched. But then the news of Fusang’s sacrifice arrived. The dazzling light, the blazing light of the High God Fusang’s fall, stabbed him in the eyes. Bai Su tore apart his wedding robes and rushed to Nanhuai Heaven. Wielding the Demon-Slaying Sword, he struck Nanhuai Heaven’s barrier again and again, until he was drenched in blood and his divine power was spent. She had come into this world because of him. She was his most perfect chess piece. He hadn’t allowed her to die. How dare she die? How dare she? 2. The cause of the High God Fusang’s fall was one of the Heavenly Realm’s great mysteries. Some said the High God Fusang cared deeply for all living beings across the worlds, and had destroyed her own divine status to save the people of Nanhuai Heaven. Others said the High God Fusang could not overcome the tribulation of love and could not let go of her old lover, Bai Su, so she had taken her own life. When Huaisheng heard this gossip, she had just finished swinging her sword ten thousand times in the lowest of the lower realms. The youth telling her the story was sprawled atop a sweetgum tree. He asked, “Do you think that High God Fusang was an idiot? She threw her life away for some heartless man. Tsk.” Huaisheng had no idea why this Sword Master was so angry, nor did she understand what the immortals’ affairs had to do with ordinary mortals like them. But to avoid having to swing her sword another ten thousand times, she obediently replied, “Yeah, she really was an idiot.” Later, after Huaisheng ascended to the Heavenly Realm and the true spirits scattered throughout the Myriad Worlds returned to her, she realized she had followed that Sword Master in cursing herself countless times. :) 3. When Huaisheng ascended to the highest of the upper realms, the High God Fusang had been dead for over ten thousand years. The divine tree she was said to have revived was half-dead, its leaves fallen and branches withered. Nanhuai Heaven, where the High God Fusang had been born, had also become a half-dead celestial realm. As for the War God Bai Su, who had been the subject of rumors linking him to her for tens of thousands of years… Oh, he held that bloodthirsty Demon-Slaying Sword to her throat and stared at her coldly. “Fusang, I’ve finally caught you.” 4. Her senior brother, the Sword Master, had died for her. Huaisheng had planned to work hard to resurrect her senior brother, Li Ciying, after ascending to the upper realm. But when she returned to the Heavenly Realm, she found that the Sword Master, or rather, the young lord of Jiuli Heaven, was lounging on the rootless tree of Jiuli Heaven. He looked down at her and said, “You fool. You finally made it.” [Reader’s guide]: 1. Both leads are powerful. The plot and romance each take up half the story, and all plotlines revolve around the heroine, who is the sole central protagonist. The hero is the Sword Master and her love interest; Bai Su is the second male lead. 2. The heroine did not scatter her true spirit because she could not overcome the tribulation of love. 3. The High God Fusang was breathtakingly beautiful and unbeatable in battle. But Nan Huaisheng, in the lowest of the lower realms, was a dull gray stone. She had only one drop of blood left, so being able to maintain a human form was already an accomplishment. :) Of course, her cultivation and beauty will both return as she trains. 4. My own take on xianxia, with countless original details, so please don’t overanalyze. A very slow burn, not a traditional cultivation-leveling story, with an ensemble cast and a happy ending. I’m putting this next novel in the queue: "Is My Late Wife Willing to Talk to Me Today?" An ancient-style sweet romance. I have a special feeling about this story. The leads have great chemistry, and I want to practice writing romance and strong character dynamics. I’ll start posting once I’ve saved up enough chapters to finish the main story, hopefully next summer. [An exiled princess’s path of revenge, an exiled princess X a powerful official from an enemy state] Spring, Year Twenty-One of Qianyuan. The capital of Chen. Two mysterious guests arrived at the residence of Liu Cang, the prince of a different surname. One was Zhao Linyun, the princess of Zhao, who had been in exile for eleven years. This princess was truly extraordinary. Not only had she escaped the bloodbath unleashed by Zhao’s current emperor eleven years ago, she had also built a formidable force and planned to return to Zhao to seize the throne. Her chances might not be great, but what if she actually succeeded? Liu Cang was a worldly man, so he naturally wouldn’t pass up a chance to offer support in her hour of need. The other guest was Cui Xun, head of the prestigious Cui clan of Chu. It was he who had personally placed Chu’s young emperor on the throne. Though still young, this son of the Cui family already wielded immense power. He was clearly ruthless, and word had it that he was also a devoted lover. Half a year ago, his beloved wife died in a great fire. He had rushed into the blaze without a thought for his own life, only to bring back her charred remains. Although the two distinguished guests were meeting for the first time, for some reason they seemed to dislike each other. Both were equally cold and distant. Liu Cang had no choice but to hastily end the banquet. To make amends, after the feast he sent three handsome men to the princess of Zhao, then arranged for three beautiful dancers to be sent to the waterside pavilion where Cui Xun was staying. That night, Cui Xun, who had been a “widower” for six months, learned that his “late wife” had not sent back the three alluring young men. He crushed the jade pendant at his waist. - During their three years of marriage, Cui Xun had always treated Zhao Linyun well. He had given her all the respect and affection a husband could offer his wife. So when Zhao Linyun pressed a dagger to his throat, she never truly intended to take his life. Cui Xun let the dagger cut his skin and leaned close to her ear, chuckling. “Whether you are Zhao Linyun, princess of Zhao, or Lin Yun, the daughter of a minor official in Chu, you have always been and will always be my wife. And I am the only husband you’ll ever have. Any man who gets close to you, every one you touch, I’ll kill.” Reader’s guide: A sweet romance with a serious tone. No drawn-out chase-and-regret arc, and no sparks or fireworks. The leads are instinctively obsessed with each other, but each has their own schemes, mostly the heroine scheming against the hero. Theme: Fulfill a passionate, youthful dream
