Reading Guide (must read):
[1] This is the first time the author has written a male protagonist, so please forgive the many rough edges.
[2] This is a no-brain, alternate-universe, slow-burn story.
[3] Some supporting characters are BL or GL. (Supporting characters cover all sexual orientations. There are more BL couples early on, so don't read if that bothers you.)
[4] The author's personal setting: the System is closely connected to the protagonist and later becomes the protagonist's mecha consciousness. (There is no romance, but if you can't accept this premise, please leave.)
[5] The main plot is about escaping the crisis of civilizational extinction, so infrastructure building won't be a major focus. (This is not an infrastructure-building story, so don't read it if that's what you're looking for.)
[6] The protagonist's intelligence is on my level, so please ignore any baffling decisions he makes. (His biological mother, the author, isn't very smart.)
