That Coworker Who's Always Targeting Me

▽

While my boss, who was still a doctor at the time, went out to treat an old man he hated, I was bored out of my mind. The only other person at this little clinic turned to me and started talking.

He had a young face, as young as mine, but he was thinner, a complete teenager. He was always appearing and disappearing out of nowhere, and his usual indifference was punctuated by intermittent bursts of excitement.

This guy had a sharp mind. I just couldn't figure out why he insisted on wasting away in this little back-alley clinic.

"XX, what's your ability?" he asked.

I looked at the glowing words only I could see in my field of vision: "Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost," thought for a moment, and answered honestly:

"A dog-loving literary character marble gacha game."

"...?"
