[Under the Skin] Asking for a Scolding

Beijiang Precinct has two legendary figures who refuse to share the spotlight: Du Cheng, captain of the criminal investigation team, and Shen Yi, a genius forensic artist.

Whenever they meet, they clash. One launches a relentless attack, while the other acts as if answering would be admitting defeat.

Du Cheng always ends up fuming, his teeth practically grinding with anger.

Shen Yi is the kind of person who takes over someone else's territory, refuses to be swayed, and is exceptionally good at pretending to be well-behaved.

In short, he needs a good taking-down.

Then one day, a murder takes place in Beijiang, and the criminal investigation team goes undercover in a bar to investigate.

Shen Yi glances him up and down, then suddenly smiles. "Captain Cheng, are you always this serious, even at a bar?"

Du Cheng chokes. "You have the nerve to say that about me?"

Shen Yi gives a soft laugh, his warm breath brushing past Du Cheng's ear and making it itch. Then Du Cheng watches the man in front of him open a bottle of mineral water and pour it over his hand, slicking back the fine hair on his forehead. Two buttons of his shirt are undone, revealing his pale, delicate collarbones. Even his usually clear eyes turn hazy in an instant.

He looks like a drunk who has just left some pleasure palace and is headed to his next wild night of seduction.

Du Cheng's Adam's apple bobs before he can stop himself.

This guy seems even more in need of a taking-down when he stops pretending to be well-behaved.

"Do you really know Shen Yi? Do you know about his past?"

A person's birth, family, education, and experiences all shape who they become, every moment of every day.

Black, white, or dazzlingly colorful.

So what is Shen Yi really like?

Du Cheng remembers him as he was seven years ago: brilliant and unruly.

That image gradually merges with the man before his eyes.

Shen Yi, who are you, really?
