Shen Chichi started learning magic at the age of eleven, and spent nearly eight years working her way up through the field.

In her eyes, the essence of magic lies in two words: transformation and control.

Transformation means the unknown; control means knowing everything.

Shen Chichi excels at finding the key to escape an inescapable dead end, then using magical props to beguile her audience and put on a dazzling performance for an empty house.

Until one person appeared.

She would always gaze at you with tenderness, as if she would always care for and protect everyone.

Many people worshipped her as a god in the darkness.

But Shen Chichi knew...

That woman's true form was a wolf.

"A wolf in sheep's clothing."

Shen Chichi coldly reached out and lightly slapped her cheek. The woman, covered in blood, bent down and tenderly licked her fingers.

In a soft voice, she said:

"My magician... Even if everything is false, I will believe in you unconditionally."

Shen Chichi's smile is fake, her magic tricks are fake, and her love is fake.

Yet Gu Wan is pathologically obsessed with getting even a sliver of genuine affection from her.

She wants them to win together...

She even wants to worship her as a god.

Gu Wan tilted her head. Shen Chichi gazed at her face, then suddenly smiled.

A note: Some of the wording in the blurb is a little old-fashioned, but changing it just didn't feel right, so I've mostly kept the original version. The idea for this story is the reason I came here to write in the first place. It's a little dream from my childhood, and somehow that's made me afraid to start writing it.

I hope that once we begin, we can make this journey together.
