[The original blurb was set in Detective Conan, but the setting has now been changed to the DC universe. The protagonist is unchanged. Feel free to read or skip.]
I'm Taozi. Real life was too boring, so I came to the game to unwind.
The game background was random, the character settings were random, the starting location was random... Random, random, everything was random!
So, at the tender age of three, I appeared in front of the Kents alongside a Kryptonian orphan.
My new name was Doris Kent.
Everything was random, and when I looked closer, I realized this game didn't even have a main quest?
Fin. In that case, I'll just play it as The Sims.
I treated all of this as my second life and lived it seriously for twenty-two years.
I have to say, the Kents were wonderful, and so was Clark. I was very happy during all those years in Kansas.
Until I heard Clark say he was going to Metropolis to look for a job.
I pulled Clark aside and warned him again and again not to get carried away and play hero. He was my closest family, and all I wanted was for him to be safe.
Clark nodded enthusiastically, agreeing to everything. But the moment I turned around, a little man in a red cape and underwear worn on the outside appeared on TV.
Clark Kent, you're in trouble!
I packed my bags and rushed to Metropolis on the spot.
But the moment I stepped out of the car, I watched Superman get punched into the ground by a robot glowing green with Kryptonite.
Seeing the "L.L." on the robot, I rolled up my sleeves.
All right, all right, Luthor, you just wait!
I called for backup and asked an in-game friend to help me.
Blueberry: No problem. Easy.
Then I closed my eyes, opened them, and found myself as President of the United States???
The comments were gleeful: Taozi, you're finally awake! The operation was a success!
: …
Whatever. First, I'll sign the Superhero Immunity Act and get my idiot little brother out of prison after Luthor framed him.

Clark had always known his sister Doris strongly disapproved of him becoming Superman and going around saving people. She was always muttering that everyone in the world was a bunch of ingrates and not worth saving.
He'd always taken those words as concern from his family. He thought she was worried that the people who criticized and insulted him would hurt his feelings, so she didn't want him to save them. He hadn't taken what his sister said to heart.
Until he saw the gathered malice of the world break through the ground in the form of Kryptonite, and his sister take his place, pierced through the chest by Kryptonite. As she hung in the air, pinned like a hedgehog by Kryptonite spikes, he let out a pained cry: "No!"
In his profound grief, he thought: Maybe the people of this world really aren't worth saving?
