The Phoenix Bird Reboots: A Young Hero

A hundred years flashed by. Yanming never imagined fate could bring about such a twist, allowing him to return from the dead.

Could someone like him really be granted such a blessing, protected by the Bodhisattvas and enlightened by immortals?

The past, with all its humiliation and hatred, had turned to dust as time raced on. He had a new life.

With joy in his heart, he opened his eyes. An infant's cry rang out, and he was born into this world once more.

He was given a surname: Tantai.

He had loving parents and friends among his classmates.

Dressed lightly and riding spirited horses, he raced freely through life;

but the unbearable nightmares clung to him like ghosts, impossible to escape.

He would wake in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat, legs trembling, looking around as if he had fallen once more into the demonic den and sea of desire from his previous life.

Fine clothes and elegant robes shaped his refined bearing.

Good teachers, close friends, and the classics of the various schools shaped his every word and gesture.

But only he knew that his past, all its degradation and filth, the bestial nature and desires of those people, their lust and debauchery, had shaped his character and made him who he truly was.

In a nutshell:

Yanming, who was intersex in his previous life, is reborn as a boy into the family of a governor. In an age when heroes are about to rise, he and the brothers he meets along the way swear brotherhood, reshape a chaotic age, turn the tide, and help a worthy ruler ascend the throne.
