Raising Kids in the 70s: A Couple’s Daily Life

[My new novel, The Sweet Stepmom’s Everyday Life Raising Kids [The 1970s], is now underway. Please add it to your library!]

Lin Wei and Zong Shao had an arranged marriage and lived apart for the four years they’d been married. They already had two children, but as a couple, they were no closer than ordinary friends.

Lin Wei thought she and Zong Shao would be a fake couple for the rest of their lives. Then, while traveling to join the army, she had a dream and learned that her husband was the unattainable ideal man the heroine of a period novel had longed for,

while she was his unattainable ideal woman.

In the novel, they had been promised to each other as children and were deeply in love. After she died young, he spent the rest of his life missing her and never married again.

After waking up, Lin Wei gazed thoughtfully at the expressionless man before her and thought:

So he loves me this much. I guess I’ll love him a little, too.

* A marriage that turns into love, raising kids on an island, and everyday family life. The setting is fictional, so please don’t scrutinize the details.

*Please add my upcoming novels to your library.

The Sweet Stepmom’s Everyday Life Raising Kids [The 1970s]

Su Ting transmigrated into a book.

She had landed in a period novel as the stepmother of the handsome, strong, and tragic male lead.

But his “handsome” and “strong” qualities were innate, while the “tragic” part was caused by her, his stepmother.

In the novel, the original owner schemed to marry the male lead’s father, but after he remained cold toward her after their wedding, she grew resentful that her feelings weren’t returned.

When the male lead’s father died in an accident, the original owner took out her resentment on the young boy. He became more and more twisted, and when he grew up, he took revenge on her, ultimately sending her to prison.

Luckily, she’d arrived early. The male lead’s father was still alive and well, and the male lead was still a sweet little dumpling.

Su Ting: ...As long as I can make it to the end, shutting my heart off from love should be fine.

After returning from a mission, He Dongchuan discovered that his new wife seemed like a different person.

She was more cheerful, smiled more, and looked at him more coolly.

More importantly, he heard her tell their young son, “Don’t worry. My marriage to your dad is temporary, but the bond between us as mother and son is forever.”

Their son: “Then if you get divorced, I want to go with you.”

He Dongchuan: “?!!”

After the Handsome, Strong, and Tragic Male Lead’s Mother Was Bound to a Live-Commentary System

Le Niannian was a child star who shot to fame at sixteen, won her first Best Actress award at twenty, married into a wealthy family at twenty-two, and saw her husband’s fortune grow to over a trillion yuan by the time she was twenty-seven. Her aloof son was also found to have an IQ of 180.

Whether you looked at her own qualities, her husband’s wealth, or her child prodigy son, Le Niannian was a winner among winners.

She thought so too, until

[No wonder they say a woman’s heart is as deep as the sea. The male lead’s dad treated her so well when he was alive, but less than three months after he died in a car crash, she remarried with the male lead’s inheritance in hand. Poor kid, he was heir to a trillion-yuan fortune, but she bullied him until he was just a miserable little wretch. Sob sob~]

[Watch your mouth! Our little guy is clearly handsome, strong, and tragic!!! We can’t lose our edge!!!]

[Look on the bright side. How can you see a rainbow without going through a storm? Without an evil stepmother, how could we get an overbearing male lead who looks cold on the outside but is full of pain on the inside, or have him and our heroine save each other?]

[Are you sure they save each other? Or is she running away while he chases her, leaving her nowhere to escape?]

So I’m the villainous mother who remarries in a hurry after her husband dies and torments the male lead? And my son is the handsome, strong, and tragic domineering male lead whose values are warped by the abuse?

Le Niannian: “All right, got it.”

Yan Yang thought his mom had been a little strange lately.

First, she told his dad to ride a shared bike to work every day, saying it was her way of helping reduce carbon emissions.

Then she made him recite the Eight Honors and Eight Shames every day, and quizzed him three times a day: “Honor law-abiding behavior and be ashamed of breaking the law. Have you got that, son?”

Yan Yang: “...”

I’m still a kid!

Theme: When husband and wife work together, they can cut through metal.
