The Sickly Beauty Just Wants to Die on the Spot

Yan Zhaoxue discovers that he is a disposable character in a cultivation power fantasy.

As the protagonist's sickly childhood friend, his role is to accompany the protagonist as he grows, care for and help him, then take a sword for him and die during the war between the immortals and demons.

He gets no more than three chapters in the whole story.

System: Congratulations on awakening. Complete the plot, and I'll approve your "resignation"!

Yan Zhaoxue: That's wonderful!

For the sake of freedom, Yan Zhaoxue diligently plays his part, giving a heartfelt performance as the peerlessly beautiful, sickly childhood friend. He cares for and helps the protagonist, stays by his side through every hardship, and even... spends their wedding night with him?

System: Say yes! You won't live long enough to get married anyway.

During the war between the immortals and demons, Yan Zhaoxue stands in white as pale as frost, his dark hair whipping in the fierce wind. He throws himself toward the Immortal-Slaying Sword without hesitation, leaving behind only a tragic silhouette and a faint, resolute smile.

Suddenly, someone grabs his wrist and yanks him back.

"I will never let you die again!"

Yan Zhaoxue: ???

The other man's eyes glisten with tears, brimming with bone-deep tenderness and the ecstasy of having found someone he thought lost.

System: ...Something seems to have gone wrong.
