The Pathetic Simp Has Had Enough

Jing Lan spent half his life chasing after Wei Zhi, but Wei Zhi remained as cold as ice.

Just as Jing Lan was preparing to keep trying, he found out he had terminal cancer.

Jing Lan smiled bitterly and asked the man he'd loved devotedly for ten years, "If I died, would you not even blink or shed a single tear?"

Wei Zhi said, "I'm in a meeting. I'm busy," then hung up. It was the last call Jing Lan would ever make.

Jing Lan suddenly found peace and died peacefully. If there was a next life, he absolutely would not fall for Wei Zhi again.

Then he opened his eyes and found himself reborn at nineteen.

At a class reunion, remembering how he'd gotten drunk and ended up doing that with Wei Zhi in his previous life, Jing Lan was already a little tipsy. He used a bathroom break as an excuse to leave early and didn't even see Wei Zhi. Perfect.

But half an hour later, someone knocked on the door of his rental apartment. Wei Zhi stood outside, eyes red, struggling to speak and rambling about nothing.

Jing Lan's heels were aching from standing there. Impatiently, he asked, "What do you want to say?"

Wei Zhi forced a strained smile and carefully pleaded, "Let me take you to the hospital for a checkup!"

Jing Lan: "I don't want to abase myself anymore. I'm done chasing after you."

Wei Zhi: "Fine. Then I'll be the one to chase you."

A satisfying and heartbreaking double rebirth.
