After the Canary Faked Her Death

Xie Jianxue was a poor student sponsored by the Fu family. The first time he met Fu JiusI, the young master was wearing a custom-tailored suit, one hand in his pocket, and beckoned to him imperiously with the other.

From then on, Xie Jianxue became the young master's lackey.

For ten whole years, he went from a pet who came whenever he was called to a lover who was cast aside at a whim.

Fu JiusI often said, “Don't even think about leaving me,” “You owe me,” and “Be good.”

Later, Fu JiusI found Xie Jianxue's diary. A thick volume: the first half was filled with admiration and love for the young master, while the second half chronicled disappointment and indifference.

Fu JiusI smiled viciously. “All these long entries are about wanting to run away. Tell me, what gives you the right?”

That's right. He owed the Fu family. What right did he have to run?

So when a runaway car mounted the sidewalk and sped straight toward Fu JiusI, Xie Jianxue shoved him away with all his strength, without a thought for himself.

He was sent flying far into the air, but when he hit the ground, he felt no pain. Xie Jianxue was lifted into someone's arms. Fu JiusI, arrogant and unapproachable, said, “Jianxue, don't fall asleep. Hold on, no matter what!”

Xie Jianxue parted his pale lips, and great torrents of blood poured out. He saw Fu JiusI helplessly wiping away the blood, trembling all over and weeping.

Xie Jianxue smiled with relief. “I'll repay what I owe the Fu family.”

The Fu family's young master was a remarkable man, a force to be reckoned with at the negotiating table and an undefeated legend coveted by the entire business world.

Everyone in their circle knew that Fu JiusI kept his life spotless, as spotless as the passenger seat he had left empty for years. No one was allowed to touch it.

Every night, Fu JiusI sat in his car until dawn, staring blankly at the empty passenger seat, his eyes red as he murmured, “I'll listen to you from now on. Don't leave me.”
