My Wife Hates Me

Yu Huan is Cheng Jinshi's wife, but she hardly acts like one.

She never checks Cheng Jinshi's phone and has no interest in his social media. Even if he doesn't show up for a whole month, Yu Huan doesn't ask questions.

This kind of freedom is the dream of many married men, but it isn't what Cheng Jinshi wants.

Six months into their marriage, Cheng Jinshi finally found proof that Yu Huan loved him.

Holding a stack of letters, he asked her, "Why are the letters Fu Yizhen wrote to me in your handwriting?"

Faced with her husband's question, Yu Huan smiled and said, "What's wrong with helping a friend pursue the person she likes?"

Later, in the study of Yu Huan's house, Cheng Jinshi found a note written in her childish handwriting when she was sixteen. It said: I hate Cheng Jinshi.

Clutching the note, Cheng Jinshi stood there, crestfallen.

That word, "hate," didn't just matter to the sixteen-year-old Cheng Jinshi.

It matters even more to the Cheng Jinshi of today.

My wife hates me.

How can I make her fall in love with me?

In short: The male lead desperately searches for proof that his wife loves him, while the female lead desperately tries to distance herself from him. A relationship at cross-purposes, and a love story between two stubborn, awkward people, full of romantic tension and bickering.

Content notes: There is a second female lead, but this isn't a love triangle; there's a reason for it. Lots of inner monologue and romantic tension, focused purely on feelings, with little plot. Two proud peacocks falling in love for the first time, both awkward about it. Slice-of-life.

One-on-one romance, both each other's first love. Marriage first, love later / rekindled romance / awkward married couple

Cool and indifferent x gentle and calculating

Theme: The brave are the first to enjoy the world.
