[Socially anxious comic artist x all-around top-tier star singer]
1.
After Yun Ting's parents sell off the family assets to pay their debts, her older brother takes her abroad to settle down.
Severely socially anxious and unwilling to leave the country, Yun Ting moves with the family's big golden retriever from their detached villa to a high-rise apartment complex.
Yun Ting is a moderately famous comic artist. She works on her comics at home, earning enough in royalties to support herself and her dog. She waits until late at night, when the streets are quiet, to walk the dog, so she doesn't have to worry about talking to anyone.
She's very happy with her life now, but her golden retriever doesn't feel the same.
2.
Huquan is a pedigree golden retriever. He used to eat custom dog food, ride around in a Maybach, and have someone come by every week to bathe and groom him.
But now all of that is gone, and he is very unhappy!
He misses his dog food and toys, but most of all, he misses his Maybach.
One night, Huquan goes out for his usual walk and spots a Maybach parked by the roadside. It's his dream car!
That day, Huquan circles the car for a full half hour.
On the way home, Yun Ting doesn't even dare look Huquan in the eyes, because she can't open the car.
From then on, Huquan loses his appetite and grows thinner by the day.
The vet says the dog has a psychological problem, and only the person who tied the knot can untie it.
3.
Qu Xun often goes out late at night in search of inspiration while preparing his new song.
He's noticed Yun Ting for a long time. Her serene smile always easily soothes his frustration when he's struggling with writer's block.
But whenever Yun Ting sees him, she immediately stops smiling, turns around, and runs off with her golden retriever.
Qu Xun thinks: She hates me.
Until one day, Yun Ting calls out to him. She says, "Could I borrow your Maybach for a little while?"
Yun Ting is shy and reserved, while the golden retriever at her feet looks eager to give it a try.
Qu Xun remembers that moment for a very, very long time...
*
Yun Ting musters all her courage to make a very rude request of a stranger for her dog.
Later, that stranger practically drags her and Huquan out for joyrides every day.
"I'm pursuing you."
"...Huh?"
Theme: There's no place like home, even if it's just a dog's bed
