The Cannon Fodder Mermaid and the Villain Get Their Happy Ending

Shen Yu transmigrates into a book and becomes a cannon-fodder mermaid who is infatuated with a wealthy, domineering CEO. To grow legs, Shen Yu takes a gender-swapped, extra-angsty version of The Little Mermaid and nervously seeks out an evil, powerful Sea Witch to make a pact. Deep inside a vast underwater temple with no visible end, the Sea Witch leads him to the door of a secret room, grabs his hand, and presses it against the stone door. Long, knuckled fingers slowly slide between his. "The potion's behind the door." The Sea Witch's voice brushes his ear. "It needs your fingerprint and voice. Go on, say, 'Open up, darling.'" Shen Yu's tail flares out. "...!" Later, the CEO sends him to stay with his villainous uncle and says with heartfelt sincerity, "My uncle is a medical genius. He can definitely cure your voice." Shen Yu flips through the script: Oh, the family feud has reached its final stage. I'll reveal that I'm a mermaid to his uncle, that pervert will lock me in a lab and conduct inhumane scientific experiments on me, then he'll storm in with the police to save me and send his uncle, who controls half the family fortune, to prison. But... The perverted uncle ties him to the examination table, leisurely pulls on a pair of white gloves, and smirks. "Don't be afraid. I'll just examine you." Shen Yu can't take it anymore. "You think I won't recognize you just because you're wearing a white coat, Sea Witch?!" The Sea Witch raises an eyebrow. "Oh? How did you know?" Shen Yu blushes. "You... I could overlook the fact that you wore nothing under your cloak, but how come you're naked under your lab coat too?" You really can't help being such a flirt, can you? A few days later, the police rush in. The CEO looks righteously indignant. "Officers, my uncle was conducting experiments on living people! Arrest him!" The police look at Shen Yu on the examination table, his clothes in disarray and his cheeks flushed, and stare as if struck by lightning. Shen Yu searches everywhere for a hole to crawl into. The Sea Witch holds him. "Good boy, Yu. Let's go home and have some fun." The CEO sees Shen Yu hiding in his uncle's arms and is deeply shaken. "Don't you love me?!" Shen Yu lifts his face. "Don't be ridiculous. I love your uncle." The CEO: "You jumped into the sea for me last time!" Shen Yu: "That was me and your uncle rushing toward each other." The CEO: "...?" The CEO: "Wait! Weren't you mute?" [Bonus Scene] Shen Yu: Next time you chase after me, make the script simpler. The Sea Witch: There won't be a next time. It took me a thousand years to bring you back to life. This time, you'll live forever with me. [Content warnings] 1. Includes the entertainment industry and a System. 2. The top's cheat is absurdly powerful. 3.
