Lin Jianyuan, 27, is an overworked office drone. Ever since he passed out from staying up late to work overtime and was taken to the hospital, he’s been seeing all kinds of strange things every day.

Lin Jianyuan suspected his brain had overheated. He went to the hospital, and the doctor said he might be hallucinating because he’d been working too hard and staying up too late.

Doctor: Don’t put any pressure on yourself. Just relax.

Lin Jianyuan breathed a sigh of relief. “So I’m crazy.”

After being diagnosed with a mental illness, Lin Jianyuan became a lot more spirited.

A coworker said the computer screen was getting blurrier and blurrier, and that he felt like he was going blind. Lin Jianyuan reached out and yanked out the shrieking vine. But Lin Jianyuan thought about it. His wife was still his wife, especially since they’d already kissed. He shielded her behind him and said, “Baby, don’t be scared. I’ll protect you.”

“Help me finish it.” The scholar deftly pulls out one gold piece after another. “Help me finish it, help me finish it…”

Ying Zhong reaches out and pats his head. “But I’m illiterate. You know that. I was only eight when the disaster happened…”

“!” The nonhuman scholar takes a devastating blow and melts into a puddle of despairing slime.

Ying Zhong laughs and takes his notebook. Beneath the fragmentary poem written in the languages of every nation, he solemnly adds the final line.
