The first time Sang Xia climbed over the school wall, she had no experience and underestimated its height. She ended up clinging to the top, too scared to climb down.
Shen Jue was leaning against the camphor tree across from her, idly playing with a lighter as he watched her make a fool of herself.
Sang Xia hadn't expected anyone to be there. She was stuck between climbing up and climbing down, and looked at him with pleading eyes. "Um... could you help me?"
Shen Jue gave her a half-smile. "Jump."
Sang Xia shook her head at once. "It's too high. I'll fall."
"You won't." Shen Jue put away his lighter and walked over to the wall, holding out his arms. His tone was still a little mean. "I'll catch you."
