A Kiss to Test the Roses

Mi Yue has been secretly in love with Fu Jin for years. After finally getting together with him, she is careful and restrained in every aspect of their relationship.

She looks forward to their engagement, only for him to abandon her at their engagement banquet to celebrate another woman's birthday.

After her sincere feelings are trampled on, Mi Yue comes to her senses, but is in a car accident while traveling to another city.

-

Fu Jin is cold and heartless. In their relationship, he treats Mi Yue as someone he can summon and dismiss at will, showing her no regard.

When he hears Mi Yue has been in a car accident, he thinks it's just another one of her tricks to win him over.

It isn't until later that the prominent Su family of the capital marries her into their household with a marriage certificate.

On the day they register their marriage, reporters crowd outside the civil affairs bureau.

On camera, a man in a custom dark brown suit wraps an arm around the woman beside him, smiling at her with tender affection. Mi Yue wears a flowing, deep-red gown. Her waist is slender, and she looks radiant, not the least bit disheveled.

The sight of them being so obviously in love cuts Fu Jin to the heart.

When they meet again, he begs her desperately, but she never looks at him again.

One night, drunk, he goes to Mi Yue's home. The person who opens the door is a man in a bathrobe, looking languid and sleepy. He says coolly, "Mr. Fu, please stop disturbing my wife in the middle of the night."

After the car accident, Mi Yue's memories become confused, and she clings to the man who saved her life.

Gentle and well-mannered, he takes care of her while she's lost her memory and fulfills all her dreams of love and marriage. She thinks she's just lucky, and that he's only pretending for the occasion.

Until one day, she finds an old photograph in Su Huaigu's study.

It's a photo of her at a piano competition many years ago.
