The Moon in the Sky

Halfway through the party, Zhu Jinyue had an unpleasant argument with her boyfriend and stormed out of the private club. Only after leaving did she remember that she had come in her boyfriend’s car. The club was tucked away in a quiet spot, and the biting winter wind hit her as soon as she stepped outside. There was no way she was going back in to swallow her pride, and calling a driver would mean waiting at least half an hour. As she stood there fretting, a black Bentley pulled up. The window rolled down, revealing a man in the driver’s seat with handsome features and a refined air. Zhu Jinyue remembered him sitting beside her boyfriend earlier. She had heard he was the founder of a tech company that had been making waves lately, as well as her boyfriend’s longtime friend. Their eyes met. He smiled warmly, his voice gentle. “Heading down the mountain? Want a ride?” * Zhu Jinyue thinks Shen Qinghuai seems gentle and mild, but in truth his thoughts are unfathomably deep. No one can ever figure out what he’s thinking. He’s like the moon in a cold, clear sky: you can see him and feel his light, but he’s hard to approach. Until the night she caught her boyfriend kissing his ex-girlfriend As Zhu Jinyue watched the couple in the courtyard below with cold eyes, Shen Qinghuai’s voice sounded beside her. “Want to get back at him?” His voice still sounded as gentle as ever. “Use me, treat me like a tool.” “Do whatever you want.” - In high school, Zhu Jinyue and Shen Qinghuai were classmates for a year, not too long and not too short. When they met again, he was her boyfriend’s friend. The boy who used to wear a T-shirt washed nearly white had transformed into the founder of a well-known company. Dressed in an understatedly luxurious cashmere coat, he exuded an elegance beyond words. Zhu Jinyue always thought Shen Qinghuai was like the moon in the sky. Only later did she realize that, to Shen Qinghuai, she was the moon hanging high above. She had never once looked back, so she never knew that someone had spent ten years crossing mountains and rivers, enduring countless trials, just to find his way back to her side. Gentle and scheming male lead × a haughty little princess who’s been rich from the start - He’s been in love with her for years - Happy ending / sweet romance / mostly set in the city / high school scenes told in flashbacks / the pacing is still unhurried *The title and blurb may change. 2024/2/20 The next book may be Do You Know? Xie Zhiheng has recently started to think that Ning Yao, a girl in his year, might like him. For days in a row, she has gone out of her way to pass his classroom. Each time, she sneaks a glance at him through the window, and whenever their eyes meet, she quickly looks away, flustered. Sure enough, after school on Friday, Xie Zhiheng receives a friend request from her. He has just finished playing basketball, and his finger slips, accidentally hitting Ignore. A second friend request quickly arrives. Xie Zhiheng: “…” She’s so persistent. Does she like him that much? This time, Xie Zhiheng accepts. Almost as soon as he does, Ning Yao sends him her first message. “Do you know?” Leaning lazily against the basketball hoop, Xie Zhiheng thinks: How could I not? It’s so obvious. His phone gives a soft buzz, and a second message appears on the screen “Your dad seems to be dating my mom.” Xie Zhiheng: “?” Theme: Becoming a better version of yourself
