The Lazy Master Is Forced to Turn the Tables

The Master is a laid-back salted fish. Apart from his family's ancestral poison-making skills, he knows nothing. Luckily, he has good luck and a handsome face, so he coasted his way to becoming a peak master in the sect. He spends his days walking his birds and refining pills, enjoying a leisurely life like a retiree. Then one day, he picked up a young disciple, a once-in-a-thousand-years cultivation genius. After just a few short years, he was already struggling to keep up.

Young disciple: "Master, Master, what does this passage in the Daoist scripture mean?"

Master: "Uh... this is something you need to understand through careful reflection."

Can you really say something like that when you don't understand it either?

A few days later, the young disciple said, "Master, I understand now!"

Master: How could he understand that?

Master: "What did you figure out? Tell me."

Young disciple: "This is how I understand it..."

After listening, the Master fell silent. He seemed to understand, and yet he didn't... He had to admit that his disciple really was smarter than him.

To avoid embarrassing himself in front of his disciple, the laid-back Master had no choice but to work hard. He read Daoist scriptures, practiced Daoist techniques, and fought with the other peak masters. He persevered miserably for ten years, until his strength finally lived up to his title and he could barely protect his genius disciple. But then...

His disciple, now a grown young man, brought him an illustrated book. "Master, what is this? I don't really understand."

Seeing the erotic paintings, the laid-back Master feigned composure. "How foolish. How can you not understand even this?"

The young disciple leaned close. "This disciple is foolish. Please teach me, Master."
