Falling into Your Palm

[Completed. The companion novel, The Crazy Ex-Boyfriend Has His Eye on Me, is now out!] Sheng Yi is a pampered young master who stands above everyone else, with Lu Xiao always at his side like a shadow. At home, Lu Xiao is his servant. At school, he's his bodyguard. He puts up with every one of Sheng Yi's whims and tantrums, and is more loyal than the most obedient dog. But after the college entrance exam, Lu Xiao is leaving. Sheng Yi nearly went mad. His eyes red, he threatened, "If you dare leave, don't ever come back to see me again!" But Lu Xiao really did leave, without even looking back at him. Three years later, the Sheng family goes bankrupt, and Sheng Yi's father falls gravely ill. Sheng Yi becomes a beauty in distress, coveted by predators on all sides. But before they can make a move, the young and powerful heir to the top-tier Lu family takes over the Sheng family with a thunderous show of force, along with Sheng Yi, who has nowhere else to turn. On their wedding night, Sheng Yi stares at the familiar yet foreign, stern face before him, his own face pale. He asks in a trembling voice, "Are you doing this to get revenge on me?" Lu Xiao undoes his collar and tells him calmly, "Yiyi, I just want you to look at me for once." Sheng Yi used to think Lu Xiao was a shadow so inconspicuous it barely existed. Now he knows that he was a wolf, patient and restrained for far too long, one that could devour him without a trace and make him beg for mercy in tears, stripped of all dignity. Later, Sheng Yi is reborn and returns to the summer of his high school years. He plans to take the chance to get his revenge on Lu Xiao, but after getting drunk one time, he accidentally reveals the feelings he has kept hidden across two lifetimes: "Why did you leave me back then? Why did you treat me like that?" He tugs at Lu Xiao's collar, furious and hurt, then bites down hard on his collarbone as if to vent his anger. The tip of his nose turns red as he cries. "I liked you so much." He is very drunk, and doesn't see the man's expression suddenly turn dark and terrifying. Lu Xiao grabs his chin and asks in a frigid voice: "Sheng Yi, who are you talking to?" The protagonist is reborn. Same-sex marriage is legal. A sweet romance. [Please note] 1. The protagonist is very forward in relationships. If that bothers you, please read with caution. 2. The protagonist is a sweet, pampered, mischievous airhead, and being reborn doesn't make him any smarter. The love interest isn't a scumbag, either. Readers looking for a high-IQ revenge plot or a groveling ex who has to win back his love should probably stop here. If you're in the mood for a fluffy, brainless sweet romance, come on in! Theme: Young people should stand on their own feet, work hard, and carve out a future for themselves.
