My Mom Is Only Four and a Half [Period Setting]

My Mom Is Only Four and a Half [Historical Era] (Romance and family affection are the focus)

If you could transmigrate back to when your mother was eighteen, what would you tell her?

Xiaorou wanted to tell her mom to study hard and not listen to Grandma when she said education was useless. She shouldn't have started working at the factory so young, only to have the little money she earned go toward supporting her uncle and his family.

She also wanted to tell her not to get married so early. She had no life experience at all and was easily fooled into running off with Dad after just a few sweet words.

Dad treated her badly, had another woman on the side, and demanded money from her. If she didn't give it to him, he picked fights at home every day.

And she hoped her mom would live for herself, instead of doing everything for her.

Carrying another person's life on your shoulders was too heavy a burden.

But what if she transmigrated to when her mother was only four and a half, when Grandma resented her as a nuisance after having Uncle?

Xiaorou became a young worker at a textile mill. Seeing her tiny, thin mother washing diapers in cold water at the start of winter, she hurried over and took her hand.

"My name is Xiaorou. You can call me Auntie. I'll buy you pretty floral dresses." That was what Mom had wanted most as a child.

"I'll give you milk candies, too." Those were the treats Mom had only ever watched Uncle eat.

"And I'll make sure you get to go to school." That was something they both regretted missing out on.

Xiaorou gazed eagerly at her tiny, thin mother, her eyes stinging. "Would you like to come with me, sweetheart?"

The textile mill's little darling suddenly brought home a young girl who called her Auntie.

She taught her to read and write, went out to sell things after work, and earned money to buy her floral dresses, milk candies, and all kinds of treats.

She also took her to learn dance, music, math, English...

No one else could understand. Only Xiaorou knew.

"Mom, this time it's finally your turn." Hehe~
