After inheriting the Kamo clan’s technique, he was unfortunately killed amid factional infighting. In this life, he decides to keep a low profile and pretend to be half-blind, turning a blind eye to curses and diligently playing the part of a useless pretty face. As for the inherited technique? No idea. Can't use it. Never awakened it. But he overdid the act just a little. Once everyone believed he was a disabled sorcerer, Kamo Ren was kicked out of the house on his coming-of-age day, making room for his half-brother to become the legitimate heir. Kamo Ren: … (muttering curses) · Kamo was trying to drown his sorrows when a handsome man cornered him in an alley beside a bar. The man’s deep green eyes were half-lidded beneath a heavy shadow. The scent of strong cigarettes lingered on his scarred, thin lips, dispersing with each breath. The atmosphere was decadent and alluring “Want to feel my abs?” “Ten thousand a time.” … Later, the two of them brawled and wrecked an entire street, then were hauled off to the police station together. Toji: “He started it.” The officer looked at the pale, pretty boy huddled in the corner, then at the vicious-looking man with a knife scar across his mouth. Officer: … Toji: … Kamo: …QwQ #Toji: A *green tea bitch# · Later still, the two were forced to become partners. They faced life and death together, hated and fought each other, and resorted to every trick in the book, from framing to stabbing each other in the back. Though each had made killing the other his life’s goal, in everyone else’s eyes they somehow managed to create an oddly harmonious, romantic atmosphere. According to a certain man surnamed Kong “The Heavenly Restriction Tyrant? No, these days we all call him the Romance Tyrant.” “Why? Because Toji once said, ‘I’ll kill that bastard even if it’s the last thing I do,’ a moving declaration of love unto death!” (Content warnings are at the very end) ★Coming soon: “Villainous Obsession Syndrome [Infinite]” Blurb: Yu Lingge, bestselling author of horror comics. Night after night, he is tormented by nightmares. The bizarre, uncanny images he draws are faithful records of his dreams. At first, his dreams contain only dense darkness. Later come malformed monsters, writhing shadows, and a group of people who call themselves players. At first, Yu Lingge takes them merely as inspiration for his work. That changes when the police accuse him of murder: the victims in his newly released comic bear striking similarities to victims of unnatural deaths whose identities have not yet been made public. The instant he glimpses the cracks in the universe, Yu Lingge’s world descends into chaos. A voice murmurs in his ear, soft and cold, like a sticky swamp [Sensitive talent, welcome to the invasion…of God’s dream] · In the nightmares Yu Lingge can never escape, a pair of strange, fathomless eyes always peers out from his dreams into the waking world. They have haunted him for ten years. After entering the Infinite World, Yu Lingge pays close attention to NPCs with this distinctive feature and greets them with the most genuine hostility. So many rumors spread among the players: apparently, there’s a psychopath who loves collecting villains in the dungeons, and whose sketchbook is full of portraits and numbers assigned to all kinds of villainous NPCs. After being targeted several times, one professional villain finally can’t take it anymore. Disguised as a player, he points to a stack of portraits of himself and asks, “Do you hate him that much?” “Quite the opposite,” Yu Lingge replies politely. “What I feel for it is more like first love.” “?” “When every beautiful dream of your adolescence is taken over by something this disgusting, you’ll understand that Stockholm syndrome is practically a soothing balm for the soul.” “Sounds like you want to propose to him.” “No,” Yu Lingge corrects him again. “Have you ever heard the saying? An ex only counts as a good ex if they’re dead.” “…” Yu Lingge smiles faintly. “So I’m here to send it to its grave.” [Content warnings!!!!] [Please, please read this!!!! If you spot anything that bothers you, close this story right away!!!] * There is out-of-character characterization. There really is. * The pairing is Toji. The manga leaves basic details such as his age and attitude toward relationships unclear, so I’ve made some things up. Megumi’s mother’s existence will also be glossed over (please don’t read if that bothers you, or it’ll really be hard to write!). Also, the story is set in 2005. Megumi’s mother died two years before Toji meets the protagonist, so there are no moral issues. * Since the source material provides little information, I’ve made up a lot about the Kamo clan’s circumstances. * If you’re looking for a story about saving the original characters from their fates, this may disappoint you. However, I can promise a happy ending for both protagonists. * The protagonist is still growing as a person and isn’t perfect from the start. Sometimes he says things that are downright awful and obnoxious, so consider this your warning. Please don’t scold him. Theme: Only by doing everything in your power to break through the darkness can you embrace light and happiness.
