On the Feasibility of Chefs Saving the World

#Can a Chef Save the World?#

Thanks for asking. I just transmigrated. I'm Qing Huai, a chef in my previous life. After I died, a System sold me a rosy dream, got me to sign away my freedom, and tricked me into saving the world.

"It's all those manga authors' fault for refusing to stick to school stories and insisting on adding superpowers!" the System wailed. "Do you know how out of control the superpowered world has become? It's worse than inflation!"

"Do you know what bizarre schemes those superpowered villains come up with to destroy the world?"

"Do you know how many excellent employees we've lost trying to keep the peace while working around the clock?"

"No, you don't! You only care about how much MSG goes in sweet and sour pork. You don't care about this world at all!"

"No... um, sweet and sour pork doesn't have MSG in it." Qing Huai raised a hand.

Chef Qing Huai reports for duty, ready to learn how to keep the peace in this world where superpowered people are everywhere and villains are a dime a dozen.

Confronting the Port Mafia, Qing Huai is cold and merciless: "How many times have I told you? Butchering pigs is the best way to practice knife skills. The key is speed, precision, and force. You can't even chop up ribs properly, and you think you can butcher people? Less talk, get to work!"

Confronting the King of Curses, Qing Huai speaks plainly and seriously: "You can threaten me all you want, but there's no fish in shredded pork with garlic sauce. I wouldn't put fish in it for any amount of money. Put away that skull-shaped kitchen, or I'll turn you into pickled pepper chicken feet."

Confronting his unruly companion, Qing Huai blushes bright red: "No, you've already eaten so many cans of crab meat. You've eaten all the ingredients for dinner... Mmm, no, you can't, even if you are my boyfriend!"

Later update: It seems things have changed. As a chef, I successfully won the villains over with food and became the darling of the multiverse thanks to my Chinese cuisine.

A lesson from work: There are three hundred and sixty trades, and each has its own champion. Even a chef can save the world!

★ Coming soon: Debuting as a Top-Tier Star in the Infinite Theater [Infinite] ★

-High-IQ, scheming beauty uke X super-strong, crazy ruffian seme-

Yu Ran is a third-year acting student at film school.

One day, he suddenly receives a stack of blank scripts, along with an audition notice asking him to bring something to protect himself to a remote old mansion.

There are no directors, crew, or cameras on site, just six young people who have met the same strange fate, staring at one another in confusion.

Blood-red words seep out of the blank script

"Dear new-generation actors, welcome to the horror production!"

"Use your imagination to act, scream, and escape. Pick up whatever tool you think will best keep you alive, and do your best to survive!"

Some of them hefted sharp cleavers, others raised heavy stun batons, and one even pulled out a fully loaded gun.

Only Yu Ran smiled as he stood beside Yan Shiche, the bodyguard he'd hired from the job market for 80 yuan a day:

"He's my knife and my gun. Until our employment contract ends, I have full rights to use him."

Later, whether they were in a haunted house with a ghost in red or a gloomy old castle, Yu Ran showed off the face of a capitalist to the fullest.

Yan Shiche, the cheap bodyguard, had to do several jobs at once. He had to act as bait and a shield, pretend to be Yu Ran's boyfriend, and chase away rivals.

He crushed a deathly pale skull beneath his foot, then shared a cigarette with Yu Ran beneath the ghost-haunted moon.

"Boss, can I talk to you about something?" Yan Shiche stood nose to nose with him.

"What?"

"Give me a raise. I can't afford to eat."
