Deadwood Stirs the Spring Breeze

New chapters drop at irregular intervals!

A proud, pampered little green tea x a fatherly, secretly flirtatious swordsman

Blurb:

Su Sasa is merely the daughter of a minor sixth-rank official, yet she's determined to find herself a suitable husband from a prestigious family and climb her way up, step by step.

She seems able to handle the affection shown to her by men of every sort with ease, navigating the capital's world of fame and fortune with boundless ambition.

As she approaches marriageable age, she carefully selects a fine husband, weighing the pros and cons and comparing her options. Surely she can't go wrong.

Her naturally beautiful face is the icing on the cake, while her deliberate pouting and coquettish act are weapons she wields with effortless poise.

Not only are the capital's young masters fond of her, even Prince Jin, a leading candidate for the throne, seems to have a bit of a soft spot for her.

She is rather pleased with herself.

But then she secretly falls for someone, a man who couldn't be more different from the husband she had planned to choose: a down-on-his-luck swordsman who insists on living at her house.

And he's a blockhead who can't get three words out.

She has never met a man like him.

His inscrutability and deliberate distance make her curious, then make her fall for him, leading her farther and farther from the path she had planned for her life.

Only when the swordsman leaves the capital without a word does she finally come to terms with it.

Hmph! Plenty of people want to marry this young lady. What chance does a rotten peach blossom like you have?

Bonus Scene:

Su Sasa loves shopping. Every time she goes out, she wishes she could bring the whole street home with her.

But eventually, from hairpins and perfume boxes to tables, chairs, and wardrobes, everything was marked with someone's personal seal. She couldn't spend a single penny, and it annoyed her to no end.

One day, after a long time fighting outside, Su Sasa had just returned to the estate and hadn't even had half a cup of tea when she was unceremoniously dragged into a dim corner, hidden by a tall figure.

"Do you have a problem with me?"

Su Sasa shook her head frantically in fear.

"Then do you have a problem with the things I make?"

"Of course... not! I promise!"

She denied it with great conviction and perfect timing, but the cartload of spoils behind her revealed her true feelings all too clearly.

That night, beneath the red wedding curtains, Su Sasa was utterly exhausted and still had to soothe her jealous old man.

He whispered in her ear, "From now on, you can only use things I make."

"Got it..."

How had she never noticed how domineering her man was before? orz...

P.S. They are each other's first. Neither the male nor female lead is perfect, and they both have their own selfish motives and do bad things.
