Springtime Exile

Wei Dang has lived through many of Xu Rao's years, from her youth to her brilliant bloom, and finally to the bewitching, alluring woman she is today.

He has seen her innocence and inexperience, and they once lost themselves in a reckless affair. Yet he never truly had her. In the end, she left him far behind, and he waited for her for many years.

At smoky barbecue stalls and amid the glittering revelry of the world of fame and fortune, they were entangled for more than a decade. Wei Dang thought that one day he would keep the rose he'd personally nurtured locked away, so she could never escape or hide from him and would belong to him forever.

Then, on the night they reunited, Xu Rao planted her foot on his right shoulder, her face glowing with the satisfaction of a long-awaited reunion. She said flirtatiously, "Wei Dang, you're still the same, just one of my dogs."

A short scene:

A stray dog walks through the pitch-black night and passes a cluster of garden flowers, wilted and drooping, their kind impossible to make out.

So he decides to steal one away, watch over her every day, and water her until she blooms in all her dazzling glory.

Later, the rose that had grown up bites him hard. He is furious, but can't forget her no matter what.

P.S.: The male lead has only been with the female lead; she has had other boyfriends. The female lead's first time was with the male lead, and she had other boyfriends in between.
