Summer Will Loop a Thousand Times

The school radio station at Jinchuan No. 1 High has a daily request show.

It's one of the few bright spots in the students' dull, uneventful days.

That summer, the cicadas sang beneath the bright sky.

Yun Qiao buried herself in her exam papers, but in the quiet, ordinary days of her youth, she followed the wind just once.

She requested the song her secret crush loved more than a dozen times, even though he would never know.

Many years later, they met again on a street in a foreign country.

Only then did she discover that he had written that song, and at last she found its complete version.

The old vinyl record crackled and spun.

At five minutes and twenty seconds, she heard the clear voice of the boy he had been woven into the melody: "I wrote this song for you."

"If midsummer repeated itself a thousand times,"

"would we eventually meet again in the sea of people?"

A quick guide: A clichéd story of mutual secret crushes and a reunion after years apart.

It's also the story of a girl who thought she was unremarkable, suddenly discovering that she, too, was part of someone else's passionate summer.

May we all have the best of youth.
