Those Years I Practiced Trumpet at Naval School

A reborn queen with a devious streak, disguised as a man & a ruthless pirate captain hiding behind the facade of a gentleman

Rong Nai is the most unfortunate queen in the dynasty's history.

In her previous life, rebels ousted her from power, her younger sister and lover betrayed her, and when she was at the end of her rope, the pirate captain tricked her, too.

Given another chance at life, she decides that rather than sit around and wait for disaster,

she'll spend her last coin on the best navy in the world, so that one day she can make the pirate captain kneel and call her "Dad."

So before ascending the throne, she quietly disguises herself as a man and sneaks into the Royal Naval Academy, ready to make a name for herself.

The reality is that she's always at the bottom of the class.

Luckily, there's a top student who's a handsome young man with pale skin and blue eyes, and he's willing to help her out.

Rong Nai (winking suggestively): Darling, besides a navy, I'm also in need of a prince consort.

But he drops his disguise before she does.

In the middle of the endless Atlantic, a fleet of pirate ships with scarlet skull flags snapping in the wind closes in.

On the deck, the man calmly removes his gloves, thin as a cicada's wing.

He takes off an antique silver mask and smiles faintly. "Good morning, Your Highness."

His voice is as lovely as an angel's, but his low tone is a devil's whisper. "I hear you plan to use me and then cast me aside. That wouldn't be very nice."

Rong Nai: ?

Get lost, you liar.

*The setting is roughly medieval Western Europe, but it's an alternate world with plenty of original details. The only Western fantasy element exists to make the rebirth possible, and won't affect your reading experience.

Theme: A strong female lead who builds her own career
