From an overlooked rookie to steadily climbing to the top of the rankings.

Players scramble for a chance to enter dungeons with Shen Qi, while monsters reverently present him with their tokens and raise him to the throne of the Supreme God.

Shen Qi is a little troubled. The little things he brought out of the dungeons spend every day tripping one another up and plotting against each other, while a man by his side is devoted to acting as a human air conditioner.

The team is far from harmonious. Their efficiency has soared, but they keep pulling off ridiculous stunts.

Until, in one dungeon, amid towering flames, the man merged with those little things.

Shen Qi smiled faintly and reached out to scratch his chin, the way he teased little monsters. "Having fun?"

In the firelight, the man's ears flushed red. He gritted his teeth, thought for a long moment, then shut his eyes and kissed away Shen Qi's teasing.

PS: Inspired by Lovecraftian Call of Cthulhu tabletop games and similar settings. Most of it is made up; call it creative license.

The plot comes first, with some power progression, but the protagonist is definitely no ordinary person.

The love interest isn't the Supreme God, but he has lots of skins. He holds a grudge against the protagonist, but can't help liking him.

Fans of either character, proceed with caution. Let's all get along.
