Inspired by Cthulhu Mythos and Call of Cthulhu tabletop roleplaying backgrounds. Most of it is made up; call it creative license.

Mainly plot-driven, with some leveling-up elements. Though the love interest is the strongest fighter, he can't slaughter his way through everything. The protagonist still has to work hard to solve puzzles and survive.
