A Prodigal Son's Redemption? What Does That Have to Do with Me?

Song Yuanzhi is an experienced transmigrator who has been bound to countless Systems.

Her newest System is called "The Prodigal Returns." She must accept missions from the System and help clients win back the men who once abandoned them, making those men change their minds.

After reading through the System guide, Song Yuanzhi promptly transmigrates into the first client's body and begins the mission.

System 0374 thinks it's incredibly lucky this time. It's bound to one of the two Hosts with the highest mission completion rate in the main System.

According to past data, this Host has a completion rate of 99%. All it needs to do is sit back and wait for the Host to complete the missions. There's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Sure enough, before long, the Host leaves the first client's body and returns to the control center to find it and take on her next mission.

0374 happily prepares to calculate the reward and issue a new mission, then suddenly remembers that it never received a notification that the previous mission was complete.

It opens the interface and sees:

Client: Mu Ting, an original singer

Target: Yu Chuhai, a famous singer

Mission completion: 99%. Yu Chuhai has changed his mind and proposed to Mu Ting.

Mission result: Song Yuanzhi splashed coffee on Yu Chuhai, rejected him in front of everyone, and ended the mission.

0374 is horrified. It refuses to issue Song Yuanzhi her reward, saying the mission was not completed.

Song Yuanzhi: Isn't your System mission called The Prodigal Returns?

0374: Yes.

Song Yuanzhi: Did Yu Chuhai change his mind?

0374: He did, but you didn't accept him.

Song Yuanzhi: The System guide doesn't say that's required.

0374: ...

It carefully goes through its System guide several times. Damn, that really was left out.

Song Yuanzhi: So? My reward.

0374 tearfully issues the reward, then asks why she didn't accept him when the mission was so close to being completed.

Song Yuanzhi replies, "Why would I take the trash back?"
