After Leaving the Entertainment Industry, She Became the Dark Path's Beloved

Chi Xi seems to have drawn a melodramatic script. One month after debuting, she’s forced to leave the entertainment industry and return home because of bullying within her group. Her mother’s new home has no room for her, and her younger half-brother cuts the only dress she keeps there into shreds.

At the same time, Chi Xi, sporting huge dark circles, is out on the streets fighting monsters and leveling up.

Legend has it that a certain Esper looks as frail as a willow, yet can pull a willow tree out of the ground. People marvel at this, then hear rumors that she has an unspeakable connection to certain wanted criminals. The higher-ups label her an S-class threat and secretly place her under surveillance.

Much later, her stepsister jumps to conclusions and says in terror, “Mom, my sister got pregnant before she was married!”

Chi Xi looks at the unknown symbiote displayed beneath the nameplate of the character card she drew: Could this thing be what they mean?

Chi Xi: It’s not your sister. It’s your brother-in-law who got pregnant before marriage...

Chi Xi is inexplicably dragged into a game. The game System tells her, “The world before you is virtual. To clear this game, you must take it to the highest level, then end it.”

But this is no game. It’s her people who are struggling, and her home that’s fallen into chaos.

So she picks up her knife.

As long as she can still lift a knife, she will never submit to this game. Even if she’s covered in dirt and can’t defend herself, she realizes that this is really a philosophical question: Is Zhuang Zhou dreaming he’s a butterfly, or is a butterfly dreaming it’s Zhuang Zhou?
